The Steiner Project

It all started with the idea of growing around 280,000 local and sustainable vegetable plants in greenhouses. In 2014 Gemüsebau Steiner converted this idea into deeds in Kirchweidach by growing their products under 11.4 ha of glass.

Since then, this family business produces delicious tomatoes, peppers and strawberries based on solar energy and geometric energy without having to use fossil fuels.

In 2016, the total surface of glass was expanded with another 8.4 ha of horticultural greenhouses.

The high number of sunny hours in the Chiemgau, the proximity of the local geothermal power plant, the use of high-quality glass from HT Glass BV, the technical know-how and the dedicated staff help the Steiner family to produce sustainable vegetables in and for the region.
